UDHAMPUR, Nov 14: A young man was brutally assaulted and stabbed by some unidentified miscreants at his house in Manwal under the jurisdiction on Majalta Police Station, late last night.
The victim, identified as Somdutt (30), son of Krishan Lal of Manwal, was inflicted deep stab wounds by the assailants who called him out of the house and fled the scene after committing crime.
The family members shifted Somdutt to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his serious condition. The victim is a tailor by profession and the assailants were not known to him.
Acting swiftly, Police is learnt to have rounded up some suspects and preliminary investigations hint that the victim was assaulted apparently due to mistaken identity.
