LOS ANGELES, Nov 23: A man accused of shooting into rapper Lil Wayne’s tour buses in Georgia earlier this year has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Jimmy Carlton Winfrey was arrested in June after one of the rapper’s vehicles was sprayed with bullets following an appearance at Compound nightclub in Atlanta, Georgia in April, reported TMZ.
No injuries were reported and police subsequently accused Winfrey of committing the crime in order to raise his gang status and he was charged with a total of 27 counts, including aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, criminal damage, possession of a firearm by a felon, criminal gang activity, reckless conduct and discharging a weapon near the street.
He has since pleaded guilty to six gang-related charges and on November 20, he was ordered to serve a decade in prison for the crimes. He must also spend 10 years on probation following his release. (PTI)
