Man washed away in Tawi, body recovered

UDHAMPUR, July 23:  A villager was washed away in river Tawi near Chenani in district Udhampur this morning.
A police spokesman said that the incident took place when 34-year-old Sohan Lal, son of Kunj Lal, resident of Tandar village was crossing the river at around 8.30 am today.  Due to flash flood he was washed away in the river. Some villagers noticed him and later informed police.
Chenani Police party led by SHO Ajeet Singh reached  at the site. The police along with villagers started search for missing Sohan Lal. After long efforts, the body was recovered at the down stream at around 1 pm. The police removed the body to Sub District Hospital, Chenani for postmortem. Later, it was handed over to the family.
