Sir,
Apropos to the editorial (DE 29/4/2018) “Create facilities at Patnitop and Sanasar “. Patnitop and Sanasar indeed need Government attention but at the same time I would suggest that Tourism Department must take due care of waste management in both these tourist locations. Lot of plastic and other non-biodegradable waste is lying scattered in these beautiful locations but the Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) has failed to take any concrete steps to address the same. All our Tourism authorities across state are busy with civil works and concrete constructions at tourist places but no steps are being taken to manage the waste in a scientific manner. Infact Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) procured a huge machine costing Rs 60 to 70 lakhs to process plastic waste of the hill station last year but from last one year the machine is not in operation. I appeal Tourism Minister , Commissioner / Secretary Tourism , Director Tourism Jammu and CEOs of all Tourism Authorities including Shri Mata Vishnodevi Shrine Board to focus on waste management at tourist places rather than spending crores of rupees on civil and other construction works.
Yours etc….
