BHADARWAH, Sept 27: Forest Department booked manager of Lakshmi Narayan Trust for smuggling green gold here today.
According to District Forest Officer (DFO) Bhaderwah Abhijeet Joshi, on receipt of complaint about dumping and smuggling of green gold, the sleuths of Forest Department conducted a raid at Lakshmi Narayan Trust.
During raid, the team seized 108 wooden scants of different sizes from the compound of the trust, he said, adding that the manager of the trust identified as Shiv Kumar, son of Attar Chand of Melani Bhadarwah has been booked.
DFO further stated that the manager of the trust used to dump the wooden scants and later smuggle them for illegitimate benefits.
He added that a case under 6/39 Forest Act has been registered against Shiv Kumar and manhunt has been launched to nab him.
