Mandal report not implemented in J&K because of Art 370: AIBCU

JAMMU, Dec 28: A meeting of All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) was held here today under the chairmanship of Mohd Latif Qureshi, Union Chairman.
The meeting was attended by Mohd Iqbal Ahanger, Chairman JK OBC Welfare Association; Fayaz Ahmed Nahar, Chairman OBC United Front; Abdul Rashid Shergojri, Rashid ud Din, Arshad Najar, Abdul Majid Hajam, Lakhvir Singh, S.C Verma, Jagdish Verma, Ashiq Hussain Hajam, Mohd Umar Mugal, M.R Bangotra, Brij Mehra, Prof Kali Dass and many others.
Speakers in the meeting discussed that there are many OBC communities in Kashmir.
“Mandal Commission report was not implemented in J&K State because of Article 370,” they maintained adding, “Perhaps this concept is still in the mind of protesting MP Aga Sayed Ruhullah Mehdi who was joined by PDP MLA Waheed Parra and PDP leader, Iltaja Mufti in protest demanding that reservation policy adopted after the abrogation of Article 370 in J&K was not acceptable.”
More speakers in the meeting said that rules cannot be moulded for the interests of a few self centric leaders in a democratic country.
