Maneka wants stern action against two animal smugglers with her forged letter heads

NEW DELHI, Mar 27: Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Sanjay Gandhi has  requested stern action be taken against two animal smugglers who were caught in Bareilly, Uttar  Pradesh on Monday with forged letter pads in her name.
The accused were caught by local police while illegally transporting animals. The fake letter pads and  seals of the WCD minister and other senior officers were recovered from them.
Clarifying that no such letters had ever been issued to individuals or institutions, the minister, who is a known animal lover, said ”I have always advocated animal welfare, and have never used my letter head  for authorising any entity or individual to illegally transport animals. I have been informed by the Bareilly  Police that the two miscreants have been taken into custody.”
She said categorically that she had requested stern action be initiated against them for the illegal act, an  official release here said.(UNI)
