UDHAMPUR, Jan 22: G.K Institute of Training & Research, Centre Mand under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Training partner Pradhan Mantri Koushal Vikas Yojana today organized Koushal Vikas Mela, as per the guidelines of NSDC held at Parli Mand of district Udhampur here today.
Member Parliament Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas was the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar was the guest of honour who formally inaugurated the Mela.
The programme started with Saraswati Vandana sung by students of the institute.
Director G.K Institute of Training & Research Center, Mand Gaurav Khajuria presented welcome address and briefed about the activities of the training center. He said that this center imparts training to the unemployed youth of the age group of 18- 35 years of the area. He informed that this year near about 350 unemployed youth were trained in five courses like Cutting, Tailoring,Embroidery, Computer, Data entry Operator, GST, out of which 293 were placed and working different private sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Manhas said that India is a big country and population of educated unemployed youths in country is increasing day by day and every educated unemployed youth aspires for Government job. He informed that the Government of India has been opening of 16263 Skill Development training institutes across the nation in which two crore youth completed the training in various trades, one crore unemployed youth got jobs in various trades. He added that Government has resolved that 75% of unemployed youth will be provided job opportunity upto 2022 in different sectors.
BJP State general secretary, Pawan Gupta was also present on the occasion.

Later, Manhas visited at G.K Institute of Training & Research, Centre Mand.
During the mela, various cultural programme, skits BBBP, were presented by the students which was highly appreciated by the audience .
