JAMMU, Oct 11: Retired officer of Indian Broadcasting Program Service, Nasib Singh Manhas here today met MLA Jammu North, Sham Lal Sharma and presented him his book titled ‘Dogri Lok Gatha: Sarup Te Vishleshan.’
On this occasion, Sham Lal Sharma said that creation of literature in local languages usually begins as part of an oral tradition.
He further said that Manhas deserves congratulations for successful publication of the book.
Mahant Rohit Shastri also spoke on the occasion.
Renowned artist, Shekhar Sharma remarked that there are many types of Indian folk epics which can be classified based on their theme and size.
“In terms of size, these works are found in both short and long forms,” he maintained adding: “The larger epics sometimes have a structure similar to that of narrative poems.”
Rakesh Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
