IMPHAL, May 22: Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey, unveiled a statue of Guru Thiyam Tarunkumar Singh on occasion of golden jubilee celebration of Progressive Artiste Laboratory (PAL) at PAL complex here on Wednesday.
Guru Tarunkumar was a renowned artiste of Manipur.
The Governor congratulated PAL and its members for playing a vital role in bringing together varied communities through cultural and community activities.
She said the organisation spearheaded in promoting rich cultural heritage of Manipur and contributing to cultural integration amongst people of the State.
Hailing rich and unique cultures and tradition of Manipur, the Governor highlighted importance of promoting cultural programmes for building a healthy relation between the State and its people.
Later, Ms Uikey urged the teaching staff to be guided and motivated by noble activity of Guru Tarunkumar to disseminate rich cultural heritage of this State not only within the State but in different States of the country as well. (UNI)
