SAMBA, Nov 18 : Apni Party provincial president Jammu and former Minister, Manjit Singh today demanded relocation of Jammu based SC community Government employees including teachers in view of prevailing security situation and threat to their lives in Kashmir valley.
Addressing a meeting here in Samba, the former Minister expressed his concern over the non-serious approach adopted by the Government to the continuous peaceful protest of the SC community employees who are posted in Kashmir but facing threat to their lives.
“The security situation is not good for the non-local residents of Kashmir even as they belong to the Jammu region. The SC community is under constant threat and fear for their life after the killing of a female Government teacher outside her school in the Valley,” he said.
He said that the SC community employees, mostly teachers, have been demanding their relocation to Jammu till the situation improves in Kashmir.
“The Government’s claim is on the papers and the SC community employees are being compelled to rejoin back their place of postings in Kashmir where they feel unsafe and unprotected amid the wave of targeted killing across the Valley,” he said.
He said that “There is anguish not only among the SC employees who serve in Kashmir but across Jammu region and their families with regard to their members.” He said that the Government should accept their genuine demand and relocate them in Jammu till the situation improves in Kashmir in view of the prevailing worse security situation.
He said that the SC community teachers and other employees should be given postings in their respective districts so that they can live with peace.
The meeting was also attended by Apni Party district president Samba, Raman Thappa, party’s candidate for Ramgarh Assembly constituency and Legal Cell president of Samba district, Sahil Bharti, Samba district SC Wing president, Sarpanch Joginder Lal, Youth Wing president Samba district, Mangat Ram, Lovely Mangol, and other prominent social activists of SC community leaders were present.
