JAMMU, Mar 22: Apni Party provincial president Jammu, Manjit Singh today expressed concern over the deplorable condition of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban.
During a meeting at Gandhi Nagar, Apni Party leaders from Ramban discussed various issues and expressed concern over the condition of highway from Banihal to Ramban.
Local Apni Party leaders from Ramban informed Manjit Singh that passengers have to suffer badly due to worse condition of road from Banihal to Ramban.
“The construction companies on highway widening work have started illegal earth cutting which has caused damage to houses in the area,” they said adding that the playground is being utilized by the construction companies engaged in highway widening work.
“The administration should identify an alternative playground for the youth of Banihal as the youth are becoming drug addicts in Ramban,” the AP leaders claimed.
They demanded overall development of Ramban especially in Banihal, Gool, Sangaldhan and other areas and highlighted their woes over unscheduled power cuts and poor drinking water facilities.
After hearing the party leaders from Ramban, Manjit assured them that their demands would be projected before authorities concerned for early redressal.
Singh expressed concern over the deplorable condition of highway and its repeatedly closing down.
He held the construction companies responsible for posing threat to the lives of commuters and locals as many houses have become unsafe because of ongoing construction work by the companies.
Danish Iqbal, Gulzar Shaan, Mohammed Rafiq, Farooq Khayal, Om Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Tahir Choudhary, Gower Rasheed, Rahim Shaan and others were also present in the meeting.
