Manjit Singh appeals CM to ensure water, power supply

VIJAYPUR, June 12: Seeking attention of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, former Minister and senior Congress leader, Manjit Singh today demanded adequate water and electricity in Vijaypur and its adjoining areas where the people have been suffering badly.
Addressing a meeting at Kotli, Manjit Singh said that the people have been facing problems in Badi, Badori, Rajinder Pura, Sangwal, Vijaypur, Kotli, Kohlar, and Rakhrajpur, dholliana  areas but the administration has not woken up from the deep sleep.
“There is shortage of drinking water. The poor people are left to drink waters from the talabs (natural ponds) as the PHE has failed to provide needed supply,” he added.
He said that over six decades have passed after the independence of India yet the administration has failed to provide water to the people and they have become dependent on the natural ponds.
