Manjit Singh demands one time settlement of refugees

VIJAYPUR, Nov 1: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today appealed for one time settlement of the displaced refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971.
“The Union Government is interested to fulfill the demands but the non-seriously approach of the bureaucracy in Jammu and Kashmir has been creating hurdles,” Manjit Singh said while addressing Congress party workers monthly meeting at Vijaypur.
The senior Congress leader said that the State Government should take immediate steps for the solution of the demands of displaced persons.
Manjit Singh said that the people along the International Border (IB) should be granted backward status as well as five marla plots and rent to the farmers for the land ahead of fence.
He further expressed concern over the problems being faced by the people in flood hit areas of Samba district and asked the Government to provide compensation to the affected families.

Panch Wazir Singh, Sandal Singh Slathia, Shamshar Singh, IYC leader Dr Pankaj Bhagat, Chander Shakhar, Rinka Coudhary, Mohd Akram, Vinod Singh and Vinod Choudhary.
