Manjit Singh seeks military action against Pakistan

VIJAYPUR, Jan 5: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today visited Keso village and appealed the Government of India to order Army to handle situation on International Border which has turned violent due to unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers.
“Pakistan has continued unprovoked violations on IB in which innocent people have lost their lives while BSF troops have also been martyred in the heavy shelling,” Mr Singh said in a statement here.
The former Congress Minister said the people have been forced to flee from their villages along the border adding that it has become a routine for the border people..
He sought attention of the Modi Government while demanding military action against Pakistan to silence guns.
“They have turned their guns towards the civilian areas and killed innocent and Indian Government should not sit silently. The Govt should order its Army troops to take over positions from BSF and do whatever is needed to silence Pakistan’s guns,” Mr Singh demanded.
He said that the poor farmers have lost their houses along with peace, besides the studies of their children have also suffered badly.
Former Minister said the time has come to take a final call and end crises over the border, adding that Pakistan wants to infiltrate militants into this side to create disturbance with the help of heavy firing from Rangers.
