UDHAMPUR, Jan 12: Former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia visited Galiote, Sadhota, Badhota, Karcha, Lander and Katti areas and addressed a public meeting in support of the demand of separate Assembly constituency for Landar-Bhamag-Pancheri.
On the occasion, Sarpanches, Panches and the local people told him that for the last many years, they were deprived of basic facilities and development due to the division of this area into three Assembly constituencies.
‘It has been our demand that this area should be given the status of a separate Assembly constituency because we do not want to see the future of our children in the dark,” they added.
While addressing the gathering, Balwant Mankotia stressed that this area should be given the status of a separate Assembly constituency. Hoping that the Delimitation Commission will fulfill this genuine demand of the people of this area very soon, he said that Panchayat level demonstrations are being held in support of the public demand and he would do every possible effort to make this area a separate Assembly constituency.
Scores of locals besides Sarpanches, Panches were present on the occasion.
