UDHAMPUR, Sept 22: MLA Udhampur Balwant Singh Mankotia today inaugurated Zonal Education Office building Tikri in presence of local Sarpanchs, Panchs and concerned officers of education as well as other departments.
The building was constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 37 lakh by PWD.
Speaking on the occasion, Mankotia highlighted his achievements like upgradation of High School Tikri to the level of Higher Secondary about 15 new schools, opening of five primary schools and their upgradation to the level of middle school during his 10 years tenure as MLA Udhampur.
In another function at village Garnai, Mankotia announced Rs 5 lakh for the development of Garnai Panchyat.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that during his first tenure as MLA, he developed Garnai Panchyat as model village.
The MLA further said that he was committed to complete the remaining works of Garnai Panchyat. He also said that Upper Garnai village will be connected with road through PMGSY and a project in this regard has been prepared and submitted to higher authorities.
Other who were present on the occasion included Balwan Singh Sarpanch Garnai, Balbir Singh Sarpanch, Pavinder Singh, Bansi Lal Verma, Rajinder Bali, Rakesh Attri and Ganesh Kumar.
