JAMMU, May 24: President of All India Jat Maha Sabha (AIJMS) and former Mayor Choudhary Manmohan Singh today inaugurated tile work of parking slot here at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Nanak Nagar.
Addressing the gathering, the former Mayor said that with the start of this work a long pending demand of the people of the area has been fulfilled. He said that it was the commitment of late Corporator Vijay Choudhary to lay tiles at the Gurdwara Sahib with estimated cost of Rs 9 lakh. He informed that the work will be executed by Jammu Municipal Corporation.
President, Gurudwara Nanak Nagar, Rajinder Singh threw light on the services offered by late Corporator Vijay Choudhary for the Gurudwara Sahib. He said that she was always keen to work for the Gurudwara Sahib and the Sangat as she was having special affinity towards this religious place.
He said that the tube well, washroom complex and high mast light in the Gurudwara Sahib was provided by Choudhary Manmohan Singh during his tenure as Mayor Jammu and Corporator of the area while open gym and deep drain of Langar Hall were constructed by Vijay Choudhary.
Upon this, Manmohan pledged to work for the development of the Gurudwara Nanak Nagar and also for the people of the area. Manjit Singh Rakki and general secretary Gurudwara Nanak Nagar were also present on the occasion.
Prominent among those who present included Inder Singh (Head Granthi), Avtar Singh Khalsa, Harbans Singh, Roshan Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Baldeep Singh, Manmohan Singh Jathedar, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Manmohan Singh Khalsa, Manjeet Singh Raina, Ravinder Singh and Amarjeet Singh.
