JAMMU, Nov 7: Minister of State for Cooperatives, Finance, Higher Education and Stationaries, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today announced 6th Pay Commission benefits in favour of JAKFED employees with effect from October, 2012, here at a function organized by newly elected employees association at JAKFED.
Registrar Cooperative Societies J&K, Sudarshan Sharma, Managing Director JAKFED, Dr. Akram Malik, Chairman J&K Cooperative Housing Corporation, V.K. Magoo, Financial Advisor (CAO), Neeraj Gupta besides other senior officials were present on the occasion.
The Minister said that due to weak financial position of the institution, the benefit of 6th Pay Commission was not extended to the employees of JAKFED, adding that with improvement in its financial condition, a detailed exercise has been done to explore the possibility of providing 6th Pay Commission benefits to the employees, which was a long pending demand.
The Minister said that the main objective of JAKFED was to provide fertilizers, cement and other essential commodities to the people at lower prices. He asked the management to take innovative measures to expand the business of the organization at all its outlets.
The Minister asked the concerned to work with utmost zeal, dedication, commitment and sincerity to raise the scale of profit, adding that the financial self sufficiency would also be beneficial for the employees as they will be able to get their pending dues.
Stressing the need to further streamlining of the business activities of the organization, Dr. Manohar Lal urged upon the functionaries to evolve better work culture by putting in their sincere efforts to achieve the set business targets. He called for adopting innovative ideas to improve the business.
The Minister said that the business of the organization was improving day by day with the expansion of activities through its outlets. He urged upon the employees to work with team spirit to promote the business of the organization.
He said that consumer’s interest is the top priority of the JAKFED and other cooperative societies. He said that it is due to the tireless efforts of the employees of the JAKFED that this institution is providing yeoman services to the people.
