KATHUA, Sept 12: Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma conducted extensive tour of Billawar Constituency and inspected the pace on the under execution projects. .
He also convened Public Grievance Redressal Camp where deputation hailing from different parts of the tehsil Billawar put forth their demands and problems.
The demands highlighted during the camp included payment of pending MGNREGA payments, better drinking water supply, power supply, provision for road connectivity and adequate staff in the schools.
Dr Sharma gave a patient hearing and assured disposal of genuine demands in time bound manner. He directed the concerned officers to redress the demands highlighted by the people and issue strict instructions to all the field functionaries to mitigate the sufferings of the people on priority.
On the occasion, the Minister gave away 30 sewing machines and Training certificates among 30 beneficiaries of Billawar town under Swarn Jyanti Shehri Rozgar Yojna. Dr Sharma also gave away cheques Rs 30,000/ each among 119 beneficiaries under Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHDSP)of Billawar town under Integrated P.O Duda Kathua.
Dr Sharma also convened a public grievance camp at Nargadi and listened to the problems of deputations from Panjtirthi, Dungara, Nargadi, Kishanpur and other adjoining panchayats. They demanded road connectivity , replacement of old electric poles, provision for street lights, up-gradation of Girls Primary School Nargadi, posting of school staff, and Suspension Bridge for Panjtirthi and Naar( Bharota) and community hall for lower Dungada.
While responding to the demands, Dr Sharma directed XEn PDD to start the road work on Kishanpur- Nargadi road. The concerned department was also asked to make DPR for Dadhlaid- Jaltian- Nargadi road under PMGSY. He also assured that a hand pump will be installed at Nargadi to meet the drinking water need of the locals. He also directed the XEn PWD to make DPR of Suspension Bridge.
