Manohar for enthusing new spirit in cooperative movement

JAMMU, Nov 18 : As part of celebration of 59th All India Cooperative Week-2012, Super Bazar Jammu organized an impressive function here today.
Minister of State for Cooperatives & Finance, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma lauded the performance of Super Bazar and said that the institution has achieved the benchmarks which were set for it with the hard work of employees. He said during the past three years the management took several bold initiatives to rejuvenate the financial health of the institution. He stressed the need for evolving professionalism in the functioning of the institution to make it competitive and profit earning venture.
Maintaining that people have still great faith in the cooperative sector, the Minister said that all out efforts will be made to infuse new energy to make the functioning of all institutions under cooperative sector more vibrant. In the era of competition, consumers want service with distinction and quality products and concerned must focus on these vital aspects.
Referring to the Cooperative Medical Stores run by the Super Bazar and JAKFED, the Minister said that effort has been made to provide quality medicines and other health related material to the patients on concessional rates. He said presently these outlets are offering 50 percent concession on all surgical items and 5 per cent concession on all medicines. He asked the people to purchase medicines from the Cooperative Stores and avail benefits of concession.
With a view to promote business, the Minister announced some sops for the employees of the Super Bazar. He said those who will surpass the targets will be rewarded with additional increments and promotions, adding that promotion of the employees will be purely on the basis of their performance. He emphasized the need for generating greater awareness among the general masses about the services offered by the Super Bazar and its sister concerns so that more and more people can avail the benefits and help in further strengthening the cooperative sector.
Registrar Cooperatives, Sudershan Sharma and Chairman J&K Cooperative Union, Rajesh Sharma also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the importance of Cooperative Week.
Administrator Super Bazar, Rohit Khajuria gave resume of the activities of the institution.
Chairman J&K Housing Cooperative Federation B.K.Maggu, ex-MLA Shoaib Lone, prominent Gandhian and Padamshri S.P.Verma, functionaries of Super Bazar and several people associated with the cooperative sector were present on the occasion.
