Manohar inaugurates 33rd branch of Jammu Women Credit Cooperative

KATHUA, Sept 10: Minister of State for Cooperatives, Finance & Planning, Higher Education, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today inaugurated 33rd of branch of Jammu Women Credit Cooperative at village Said in tehsil Hira Nagar.
Dr Sharma also convened a public meeting to listen to the problems and demands of the people and reviewed the status of work on various projects and schemes taken up in the area.
Panchs and Sarpanchs of Said, Nichla and adjoining areas apprised about their problems and demands which were mainly related to provision for uninterrupted drinking water, power supply, additional class room and boundary wall of High School, Said and construction of road from Sarar to Gourian Baba..
The Minister gave patient hearing and issued instructions to the concerned officers to mitigate the suffering of the people within stipulated time frame.
The Minister said that the objective of opening of branch was to empower the women by providing them an opportunity to become economically self reliant, adding that the organisation has been established on the Micro Financing Concept.
Responding to the demands for additional building for the school, the Minister said that construction of 5 rooms in the High School would commence soon. He assured that road from Sarara to Gourian Baba will be constructed shortly.
Later Minister convened open public darbar at village Beldaran in tehsil Hira Nagar to take stock of grievances of villagers.
Responding to the demand for early commissioning of water supply schemes, the Minister directed the PHE Department to explore the possibility for the same. He also announced 20 electric poles out of CDF fund for the areas.
The Minster asked the Sarpanchs and Panchs to prepare a plan for Rs 3 lakh for the development of the area. Responding to the demand for development of graveyard, the Minister said that Rs 1 lakh has already been sanctioned for the purpose.
