KATHUA, Nov 25: Senior Congress leader and Minister of State for Cooperatives and Finance Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has intensified the ongoing election campaign in Kandi belt of Billawar constituency by holding a series of public meetings at Parngoli, Dinga Amb, Chhallan and Mangloor villages.
A large number of villagers besides Sarpanchs/ Panchs/ Congress workers and local leaders participated in the meetings. During interaction with people, it was observed that people want immediate redressal of their long pending issues including proper transport facilities and road network to the villages, availability of medical staff and life saving medicines in the local dispensaries, upgradation of the dispensaries to PHCs, better irrigation facilities, regular supply of electricity and drinking water.
While addressing the gathering at Dinga Amb, Dr Lal claimed that Congress Party will emerge victorious in the upcoming Assembly elections by looking at the overwhelming support of the people of Billawar constituency. He, however, urged people to strengthen the hands of the party by casting their votes in large numbers so that a people friendly Government in the State is formed to accelerate the development on all the fronts.
Mr Sharma also launched door to door campaign to enhance awareness among people about various historical initiatives taken by the Congress Government during the past 10 years for securing the goal of speedy development in all sectors as well as welfare and prosperity of the people. He urged the party activists to reach out to every voter and explain to them the programmes and policies of the Congress party.
