KATHUA, Dec 20 : Minister of State for Cooperatives, Finance & Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today paid obeisance at famous shrine of Varun Devta Khwaja Peer during annual Bhandara at Billawar.
District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Zahida Parveen Khan and Sub Divisional Magistrate, Billawar Dr Vikas Gupta accompanied the Minister during the Bhandara.
On the occasion, the Minister prayed for peace, prosperity and communal harmony of the State. He reiterated that Annual Bhandara at shrine enshrined the spirit of solidarity among the people of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sharma said that Bhandara at shrine has become a big calender event. He said Lakhanpur-Sarthal Tourism Authority has established sanitary unit at shrine to facilitate the devotees. He said beautification of shrine area will be taken up shortly.
