Manohar takes stock of people’s problems

Kathua, Sept 9:  Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Higher Education Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today convened a public grievances camp at village Dinga Amb in tehsil Hiranagar and listened to the people’s problems.
Public representatives from various Panchayats/ villages of the tehsil  Hiranagar projected their   demands before the Minister regarding ration, electric poles, drinking water, road connectivity up-gradation of schools, inclusion of genuine  people in BPL list, old age pension.
The Minister listened the problems and demands of the people  patiently and assured that their demands   will be redressed on priority.
The   representatives from various Panchayats /villages also  apprised the Minister  about the  damages caused  in the recent floods/heavy rains. They demanded compensation for the  crops and cattle   washed away in the flash floods.
While addressing the public gathering Minister said that recent floods/heavy rains had caused much damag in the Hiranagar  tehsil. He said that hundreds of houses have been  damage  in the floods, while cattle  have also been washed away in the flood. He said that relief and compensation will be distributed to the affected people after the proper assessment of the losses.
Minister took serious note of the drinking water problems in village Dode and directed AEE PHE to restore the water supply in the village at the earliest.
Regarding the demand of electric poles, the Minister announced 15 electric poles for Dinga Amb Panchayat (B) and 20 electric poles for Mela Panchayat. He issued directions to PWD to repair the Dayalchack Challan road.   Responding to the complaint about the irregular supply of ration, he asked Tehsil Supply Officer to ensure adequate stocks at all depots of the area.
He said that work on Magloor bridge is under progress while earth work on  Khairi road has been completed and added that  it will be completed within two or three months.
Regarding the old aged pension he said that all the old aged pension cases would be cleared by   March next year.
