Manohar urges people to throw BJP out of power in upcoming elections

KATHUA, Jan 20: Former Minister and senior congress leader, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today urged the people of the State to vote in large numbers in upcoming Parliamentary and Assembly elections to remove BJP out of power.
Dr Sharma was addressing series of public meetings at Lodnu in Panchayat Kishanpur of Block Billawar, where he gave patient hearing to public grievances.
During the meetings, people of this remotely backward area showed there serious resentment against previous BJP MLA for neglecting their area on development front. They said in last 4 years neither local MLA nor MP visited them. “Even a single development work was not started in their area,” they said and highlighted their demand of link road between Lodnu to Kapla and streamlining drinking water supply system.
Dr Sharma, while addressing the public, said that during his tenure a dug well work was initiated and completed in 2013-2014 in Kishanpur Panchayat but in last 5 years it has not been commissioned due to callous and deliberate attitude of BJP Government. Further, he pointed out that he will not tolerate the neglect of common masses of the constituency anymore and assured people that once he comes back in power his main priority will be to bring Billawar constituency back on the development track.
He further said that the main agenda of Congress party is overall development of all the 3 regions of the State and also to maintain communal peace, harmony and brotherhood among the people of the State.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Rattan Chand, Suresh Kumar, Purshottam Sharma, Panch Naresh Kumar, Joginder Singh, Ashok Singh and ex-Sarpanch, Nank Chand.
