KATHUA, Aug 25 Senior Congress leader and former Minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma visited the land slide affected Mohra Chuhara, Panchayat Uchha Pind, in Ramkote tehsil of Billawar constituency along with local Sarpanchs and interacted with the affected families members.
The peoples apprised Mr Sharma about their sufferings and also appreciates the role of Sarpanch Panchayat Uchha Pind Puran Chand Sharma, Mohinder Singh Mankotia and other youths of the locality who came to their rescue on the fateful day of incident.
About 41 families of Billawar and eight families of Ramnagar in district Udhampur are badly affected and their land, crop, residential houses, ration stored in their house, fodder for their domestic animals as well as all other belongings have completely destroyed in this land slide. It is observed that there is an urgent need of complete rehabilitation on priority basis including allotment of alternative land on safer place and sufficient financial help required to be done without any further delay.
The Congress leader said that a deputation of Morha Bhedhu in village Kallan Panchayat Dhanu Parole in tehsil Billawar led by Gian Chand and Zulfi Ram member Panchayat from SC community apprised of the land slide at Morha Bhedhu in which three residential houses have completely damaged and seven partially. The paddy and maize crop has also destroyed. The deputation also apprise Dr Sharma that this also has been brought in the notice of Tehsil Administration but no body paid heed to assess the situation.
