Mansar police arrests bovine smuggler, rescues animals

SAMBA, Sept 27: Samba police has arrested notorious bovine smuggler, rescued bovine animals and seized vehicle used for transportation of bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Post (PP) Mansar falling under Police Station (PS) Samba.
The arrested notorious bovine smuggler has been identified as Sajad Ahmed, son of Shabir Ahmed of Rakh Jargoh tehsil and district Ramban. A case FIR No.229/2023 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba through Police Post Mansar.
The bovine smuggler has been arrested by a police team comprising of in charge Police Post Mansar, PSI Rajat Sharma under the supervision of SHO Police Station, Samba, Daljit Singh, DySP, Garu Ram and Additional SP, Samba, Surinder Choudhary under the overall supervision of SSP, Samba, Benam Tosh.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba Benam Tosh said that total 85 bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in past eight months after the launch of special drive, 67 FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, 57 vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and 663 bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
