SRINAGAR, Oct 26: To discuss various issues relating to Micro Industrial Enterprises and Village Industries Sector, Mansoor Sohrawardhy from J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board called on Shri Giriraj Singh, Minister of State, Independent Charge for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt of India.
Soharwardhy ex-pressed his gratitude to the Minister for enhancing the targets under Prime Minister’s Employ-ment Generation Programme from 1650 Units involving margin money outlay of Rs 32.73 crore envisaging employment opportunities to 13200 persons to 4125 Units involving margin money outlay of Rs 81.82 crore envisaging employment opportunities for 33000 persons.
Sohrawardhy stressed the urgent need of organizing the traditional industries of the State on modern lines to ensure their sustainable development so that the Units falling under micro industries and village industrial sector produce customer savy products.
The Minister agreed in principle to sanction 5 crore more SFURTI Clusters involving the financial assistance of Rs 24.09 crore.
Sohrawardhy also projected the demand for construction of 3 marketing plazas in the state with approximate cost of Rs 15 crore so that the Unit holders falling under the purview of Khadi and village industrial sector will be provided marketing support.
The Minister has agreed to provide the financial assistance on the condition that the State Govt provides land for construction of marketing plazas.
