JAMMU, June 8: National Awami United Party (NAUP) today alleged that many people families are devoid of ration for many months as their ration cards have been either cancelled or names of some of their family members deleted from ration card.
Addressing a press conference here today, NAUP general secretary, Women Wing Jammu, Shikha Bandral criticized the role of LG administration for the woes of poor people who have APL or BPL ration cards e but due to some technical issues or deliberately names of their family members deleted from their ration cards and the administration has not given orders yet to furnish new ration cards as most of the people are waiting for few corrections in their ration cards.
“Poor people are wandering from one office to office to get corrections in their ration cards so that they may get ration but as the entire system has gone digital, these people are facing may issues to get corrections in their ration cards but nobody from the department or even LG Administration has time to listen their woes,” Bandral said.
Bandral appealed the LG administration to increase the quota of ration in both categories of BPL and APL and give instructions to the concerned department to sort out the issue immediately and start furnishing new ration cards.
Also present in the press conference were Pinki Bhagat, Nisha Kumari, Rajkumar and Devo Devi.
