ED’s action against Rahul Gandhi

JAMMU, June 17: Several senior leaders and Congress activists were taken into custody while holding a strong protest demonstration near Press Club against the vindictive policies of the BJP Govt against the Congress leadership, especially Rahul Gandhi.
A large number of congress workers , women and youth activists of District Congress Committee Jammu Urban and Jammu Rural led by senior leaders including PCC vice president Mula Ram, Th Balwan Singh, TS Bajwa (Ex-MP), Ved Mahajan (Ex-MLC), Hari Singh Chib (DCC president Jammu-R), Pawan Raina, Shashi Sharma, Dr Karan Bhagat, Ricky Dalotra, Ritu Chaudhary, H S Mehta, Sanjeev Panda, Rajvir Singh, Dr RK Khajuria, Satish Sharma(Ex-Corporator) and several others assembled near Press Club Jammu and started protest demonstration.
The protestors raised slogans against BJP accusing Modi Government of indulging in political vendetta against Congress party and Gandhi family. They blamed the Modi Government of misusing Central agencies like ED, CBI to take on the opposition leaders especially Congress party to gag the voice of opposition.
He said Congress shall not be cowed down by such tactics and would fight back the repressive policies of Modi led BJP Government and safeguard the democracy.
A heavy contingent of police stopped the protestors from proceeding towards Raj Bhawan and they were taken into preventive custody and taken to district police lines.
Briefing the media persons at the site of protest, JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that Modi Govt wants to suppress the voice of opposition especially Congress leadership, as BJP cannot answer the tough questions of public importance and the failure of the Govt. on various fronts.
“It is Rahul Gandhi and Congress leadership which has always raised issues of youth, farmers, uncontrolled prices, large scale unemployment and recent Agnipath Scheme against youth. Congress is the strong opposition party now, so Modi Govt is using Central agencies and police against the opposition leaders. The Congress Satyagreh shall continue against such vindictive policies of BJP Govt and its wrong policies and failure on all fronts,” Sharma said.
