Many public delegations project issues before Mehbooba Mufti

SRINAGAR, Feb 17: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti concluded her two day tour to border district, Kupwara after meeting public delegations from various areas and paying visit to Handwara area as well today.
After addressing worker’s convention of the district, Mehbooba met public delegations from Karnah, Lolab, Kupwara, Handwara and Langate areas of the district on Wednesday. People highlighted various problems being faced by them and sought the PDP president’s intervention for their resolutions.
The delegation from Langate, apart from other issues highlighted the issue of water crisis and sought augmentation in the Water Supply Scheme running through Palpora to Langate.
The delegation from Handwara demanded that the work on the proposed Medical College in the area be initiated at the earliest. The delegations from Rajwar and Lolab areas raised the issue of disruption in electricity supply and the lack of infrastructure thereof.
The PDP president gave patient hearing to all the delegations and assured intervention wherever necessary.
Later, the PDP president visited Handwara where she addressed party workers and office bearers from the constituency.
Mehbooba Mufti also visited the home of senior journalist and NDTV Bureau Chief of J&K Nazir Masoodi to condole the sad demise of his mother. She expressed solidarity with the family and prayed for the departed soul.
