SAMBA, Dec 24: State President BJP SC Morcha and MLA Samba, Dr DK Manyal today started blacktopping of Katli road at an estimated cost of Rs 70 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Manyal said that road connectivity is key to the development and prosperity of the people and it is the priority of the present Coalition Government to strengthen this vital sector.
He said that the Government has devised a comprehensive programme to upgrade/blacktop all the existing roads in a phased manner and work on most of the roads in his constituency are at the verge of completion.
He asked people to come forward and check the quality of work. He also sought their cooperation for ensuring developments in all sectors and asked for necessary feedback regarding the local priorities so that Government can take appropriate action on time.
Later, Dr Manyal distributed 50 LPG connections among the Below Poverty Line (BPL) households under the Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana’ (PMUY).
Meanwhile, Dr Manyal attended Christmas celebrations organized by the Calvery Mission School, Samba. Later, the MLA held an interaction with the people at Utter-behani to takes stock of their problems. In the meeting, people raised various important issues of the area. He also held a public darbar accompanied by PHE Department officials with the people of the area.
