Manyari shop gutted

MENDHAR, Aug 7: A Manyari shop was gutted under mysterious circumstances in Mendhar town this afternoon.
Reports said that it was hustle and bustle in the town at around 4 pm. One Karam Singh, resident of Mankote who also runs his Manyari shop near Jama Masjid, Mendhar town was also sitting in his establishment. He went to just nearby shop for a work and when he returned some body played mischief and his shop was seen in flames. The traders of the area raised alarm and the police and Fire tender rushed to the spot.
The firemen controlled the fire and prevented it from spreading ahead to the adjoining shops. The traders also helped in containing fire.
It was about three years back that this shop had gutted under similar circumstances. The Firemen ruled out possibility of short circuit and believed it as sabotage.
Later, Karam Singh, assisted by some people of Mankote went to the SDPO Mendhar Shahid Nahim and demanded registration of an FIR and investigation into the matter. They said it was second such incident in last three years. They also gave some clue about the suspects. The police has started investigation. The loss of property was being assessed.
