Marathe takes over as Air Officer Commanding

SRINAGAR, Nov 3: Air Commodore M Y Marathe took over the command of Air Force Station, Srinagar, as Air Officer Commanding (AOC), a defence spokesman said today.
Air Commodore Marathe was commissioned in the IAF as a fighter pilot in 1987 and has been posted in various fighter squadrons. He has a vast experience in fighter operations, the spokesman said.
He said Marathe is a Fighter Combat Leader and a Pilot Attack Instructor and undergone the prestigious Defence Services Staff College course.
During his career, he has held many important assignments and staff appointments including the command of an Air Force Station and a fighter squadron.
