KATHUA, Jan 14: A solemn tribute was paid to Army Martyr NK Piar Singh on the 21st anniversary of his martyrdom.
A Shaheedi ceremony was held in his native village, Kukey Chack, Kathua, organized by the Army’s 17 JAKLI unit.
The ceremony was attended by MLA Kathua Dr Bharat Bhushan, Army officials, the martyr’s family, and other prominent citizens, all gathered to honor NK Piar Singh, who sacrificed his life for the nation at the Siachen Glacier on January 14, 2004.
A wreath-laying ceremony was conducted, and floral tributes were offered to the martyr.
The Army also paid its respects during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dr Bharat Bhushan expressed pride in the supreme sacrifice made by NK Piar Singh, emphasizing that his bravery serves as an inspiration for the youth and the entire society to serve the nation.
DGPC President Charanjit Singh highlighted that the Sikh community has always been at the forefront of serving and sacrificing for the country.
