Martyrdom Day of Capt Bahadur Singh observed at Bhambo Chak

SAMBA, Dec 15: The 45th Martyrdom Day of Captain Bahadur Singh (Veer Chakkra posthumously) who laid down his life for the nation during Indo-Pak war on December 15 in 1971 in Rajasthan was observed in his native village Bhambo Chack near border in Ramgarh area of district Samba today.

The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga was chief guest on the occasion who paid floral tribute to Shaheed captain Bahadur Singh.
On the occasion Ganga also inaugurated renovation works in the premises of martyrdom place i.e. renovation of Community Facility Centre, four walls, , etc. All developmental works were completed at the estimated cost of Rs. 15 lakh.
A large number of the people of the area attended the function and paid tributes to martyr.
The Martyr’s Day was organised under the banner of “Shaheed Captain Bahadur Singh Smarak Samiti” Bhambo Chack.
On the occasion DDC Samba, Sheetal Nanda, SSP Samba, Anil Magotra, ex. Sarpanchs and senior citizens from the adjoining areas also paid wreaths at the Samarak of martyr.
Every year on Martyr’s Day function, the meritorious students of zone Ramgarh are being honoured by Samiti. This time also the Minister handed over the trophies to the students of class 8th, 10th and 12th.
