JAMMU, Sept 3: A labourer last night murdered a Mason at Sector No. 3 in Gangyal after a scuffle over payment of the dues of the accused.
The victim has been identified as Punnu Ram, a Mason son of Dubki Ram R/o Chattisgarh, presently putting up at Sector No. 3 in Gangyal. He was beaten-up with sticks by accused Narayan Sahu son of Raja Ram, a neighbour of the victim after a scuffle over the dues Sahu had to take from Punnu Ram.
Punnu was shifted to Government Medical College hospital in an injured condition last night. He died in the hospital this afternoon.
Police have arrested the accused Narayan Sahu and registered a murder case against him at Gangyal police station.
Police said the accused had to take payment from the Mason. Last night, they had a tiff over the payments after which Sahu attacked Punnu Ram.
