NEW DELHI, July 11: Masoor and its dal prices surged by Rs 50 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale pulses market today on scattered demand from retailers.
However, other pulses continued to trade in a tight range for want of support and settled around previous levels.
Traders said mild demand from retailers against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly led to rise in masoor and its dal prices.
In the national capital, masoor small and bold rose by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,600-6,700 and Rs 6,600-6,800 per quintal, respectively. Its dal local and best quality also enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 7,650-7,750 and Rs 7,750-7,850 per quintal.
