Massive protests against attack on Yatra

JAMMU, Aug 14: Several religious, social, youth and political organizations today held protests against Pakistan at various places for disturbing peace in the State and strongly condemned the incident of grenade attack on Shri Budha Amarnath pilgrims at Poonch last evening.
In Poonch town, youth from various Hindu organizations including Shiv Sena, Bajrang Dal, VHP, Poonch Youth Club held protest against the terrorist attack on yatra and raised slogans against Pakistan. They also shouted slogans against local police authorities for failure to ensure tight security arrangements. They burnt the national flag of Pakistan chanting slogans against Pakistan Govt for creating trouble in J&K State.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Shiv Sena activists assembled at Maheshpura Chowk in Jammu and held strong protest against Pakistan. They observed August 14 as black day. The protesters led by Dimpy Kohli , state unit president , also brunt the Pakistani flag. The Sena activists warned Pakistan to desist from abetting terrorism in J&K. They also condemned grenade attack on yatris at Poonch town late last evening and alleged that Poonch police has failed to ensure safety and protection of the Budha Amarnath ji pilgrims.
Activists of NPP led by zonal president, Neeraj Gupta held strong protest at Janipur Chowk here today and burnt the National flag of Pakistan. A large number of local people also joined. They were shouting slogans against Pakistan and condemned the attack on Yatra at Poonch. They warned to BJP and PDP to handle the situation in Kashmir affectively otherwise, it would go out of their hands. They were also demanding imposition of Governor rule in the State.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress committee has strongly condemned the blast at Poonch last evening resulting into serious injuries to several persons including pilgrims and termed it an attempt to torment communal trouble.
In a statement here, senior Congress leaders lashed out at the attempt to disrupt Yatra and peace and religious harmony and termed it as security lapse. The leaders appealed to the people to remain vigilant from mischievous elements and thwart their designs. They asked the Govt to ensure fool proof securities in view of the pilgrimage and other serious development in the region.
The leaders also lashed out at Pakistan high commission for highly condemnable and objectionable utterances and reminded of the situation in PoJK and Baluchistan and expressed full support and sympathy to the people there.
Singatories to the statement included Sham Lal Sharma, Mula Ram, Raman  Bhalla, Ravinder Sharma, Shabir Khan, Jahangir Mir,  Ch Mohd Akram, Ch Shah Mohd, Ashok Sharma, Iqbal Malik, Ch Shah Nawaz, Ch Zafar Ullah, S Rajinder Singh and Ch Bashir  Naz, Ch Gani .
Expressing his anguish on the attack on the innocent yatris of Budha Amarnath Ji, BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta strongly condemned the attack on the yatris.
Talking to media persons in Rajouri, Vibodh said that it is very unfortunate incident and these designs of the enemy will be defeated by the brave and patriotic people of Pir Panajl region. He said that by such type of cowardly acts the enemy aimed at disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of the region. He questioned the lapse in the security of the yatris and demanded a through probe into the incident. Mr Gupta demanded that the people involved in such a incident must be arrested soon.
