JAMMU, Nov 18: A deputation of Medical and Surgical Traders Association (MASTA) led by Ashok Amla, Association chairman met Commissioner Secretary Finance and MD JKMSCL.
The deputation raised the issue of pending payments for life saving drugs, instruments and other such items of various firms which has now gone in crores but still the same has not been cleared by the Government treasury of Civil Secretariat, Jammu.
Members of the deputation said that delay in these payments is causing financial crisis to the local firms involved in supplying drugs, instruments etc.
They further said that this crisis has been created after the implementation of treasury mode system against government order number 104-F 2023 dated 18-05-2023 of Finance Department.
The deputation members also said that earlier the payment made by JKMSCL to the firms was through RTGS system and it was smooth and seamless.
“If the long pending payments of the firms of life saving drugs, instruments etc which is in crores is not released immediately, they will be compelled to stop the supply of the same and the subsequent crisis due to non-availability of life saving drugs and equipments in hospitals of the State will be the sole responsibility of the Finance Department of J&K government,” the deputation leaders said.
They also said that the government order of treasury mode should be revoked to avoid future crisis.
Vijay Bhardwaj, president; Sandeep Gupta, senior vice president; Sandeep Slathia, vice president; Jhujhaar Singh and Vimal Arora, members were also present in the deputation.
