JAMMU, May 12: A man has been arrested for raping his niece for six months.
As per police station, yesterday evening a minor girl aged between 10 to 12 years was found wandering aimlessly at village Satarian RS Pura.
On this, a team from RS Pura reached Satarian and took the minor into its possession.
Police decided to shift the girl to Bal Ashram till her parents can be contacted, but the girl refused.
During questioning, the girl disclosed that her maternal uncle repeatedly raped her for the past six months.
The matter was informed to Bari Brahmana police station as the girl was residing in its jurisdiction.
Acting over the girl’s statement, a case under FIR Number 59/16 under Section 376, 504 and 506 RPC was registered at police station Bari Brahmana and accused has been arrested, who has been identified as Rath Ram, son of Furinder Parsad of Chattisgarh, at present Teli Basti, Bari Brahmana.
The girl has been restored to family members after conducting medical examination and further investigation into the case is going on.
