KARGIL, Oct 9: Advisor to Chief Minister, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo today had a review meeting with Deputy Commissioner Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain to take stock of education scenario in the district.
The Advisor who is on five-day visit to the region said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti led Government is committed for the upgradation of education sector in all the three regions of the State and in this regard various steps are being taken under “Knowledge Initiative.”
During his tour, the Advisor would meet the concerned of Hill Councils of Kargil and Leh. Besides, to exchange the ideas about the initiative the Advisor would also have detailed meetings with the officers from the Department of Education, members of civil society and people from various walks of life.
Meanwhile, various deputations called on Professor Mattoo at Drass to apprise him of various issues faced by them. He assured them that he would take up the issues with CM as well as with the concerned officers.
