Maulvi beats up Madrassa child, keeps in confinement for 2 days

RAJOURI, July 23: A sensational case of mercilessly beating up of an innocent child of a poor family who was admitted for religious studies in a Madrassa located at Palulia village of Rajouri has come to light.

Apart from physical torture, the child was kept in illegal confinement for two days by the Maulvi. The public and family members came to know about the matter after the video of beating the boy with steel chain and wounds on the body went viral on social media.
Reports said 10-year-old child belonging to a poor family was admitted by his parents to a Madrasa namely, Lukmania Sultania Alamdina in Palulia so that he could get religious education there. But on Sunday morning, that innocent child escaped from there and was found standing in front of a hotel in Rajori city.
Some people saw that both the hands of the child were tied with iron chains and he was very upset. They also saw wounds on his body and asked what happened. The boy narrated the incident. Someone made his video and made it viral on social media.
The innocent boy narrated that his parents had left him to study in a Madrassa but he did not like the environment there and ran away from there but the family then again sent him to the same Madrassa. The boy said the Maulvi beat him mercilessly with a stick and locked him in a room for two days. The marks of beating with sticks were clearly visible on his body. Not only this, a Maulvi, Mohammad Basharat tied the child with an iron chain and kept him in illegal imprisonment for two days so that he could not run away.
The innocent boy somehow escaped from there and reached Rajori city. After receiving information Child Protection Unit swung into action and wrote to the police for action.
Shivangi Kant, legal advisor of Child Protection Unit Rajori, told that after watching the viral video, it seems that the child has been brutally tortured. The Child Protection Unit has written to the Rajouri police to take action and the police have registered a case and started investigation.
SHO Rajori Shaukat Ahmed told that a police team has been sent to arrest Maulvi by registering a case under FIR 344/2023 under section 323 and 342 IPC and 75 Juvenile Justice Act at Rajori police station against Maulvi named Mohammad Basharat.
