JAMMU, Aug 23: Max Super Specialty Hospital (SSH), Patparganj (New Delhi), today launched their first oncology OPD services in Jammu.
A statement said that Dr Sanjeev Tuli, a senior consultant in surgical oncology at Max Hospital Patparganj, will be providing primary consultations at Raksha Kidney Centre, Tallab Tillo, Jammu, on the third Saturday of each month, from 12 pm to 4 pm.
“This strategic initiative seeks to bring high-quality cancer management services closer to the community, eliminating the need for patients to travel to major urban centers for initial assessments,” it said.
Dr Tuli emphasized the crucial role of timely cancer detection in achieving positive outcomes. He highlighted the revolutionary impact of cutting-edge robotic surgeries, which offer innovative solutions.
The three-dimensional perspective provided by the robotic console allows for surgeries in confined and intricate spaces that traditional laparoscopic procedures might find challenging. Moreover, the technology enhances surgical precision, particularly important for reconstruction procedures.
The value of robotic-assisted procedures in simplifying treatment approaches across various medical conditions, such as head and neck cancers, starless thyroidectomy, thoracic surgeries, and abdominal and genitourinary surgeries, was emphasized. The benefits of minimally invasive robotic cancer surgeries, which are not yet fully utilized in the region, need greater recognition.
“The launch of the OPD services aims to address this gap and provide patients with access to advanced medical treatment options,” read a statement issued by the hospital management.
“Given the rising incidence of cancer cases across the nation, there is an increasing need for heightened awareness about the disease and early detection. Max Healthcare, known for its top-tier healthcare services and adoption of cutting-edge technology, has established itself as a preferred tertiary care hub for Jammu residents and nearby regions,” the statement further read.
