JAMMU, Apr 20: Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta today visited Municipal Market Parade and directed the shopkeepers to stop displaying their items in front of their shops and kiosks.
Gupta asked the shopkeepers to keep their belongings within their shops else stern action might be taken against them.
He also appealed to the shopkeepers for maintaining cleanliness in and around their shops.
The JMC officers were also directed to chalk out a comprehensive plan for modernized shopping complex along with sufficient place for parking of vehicles in the Municipal land of Parade.
Heath & Transport section of JMC was directed to get the area of Municipal Market and its surroundings cleaned by deploying sufficient sanitation staff on routine basis.
The Mayor also appealed to the general public to cooperate with JMC staff and avoid using polythene bags and do not throw garbage in the lanes and drains so that the goal of Swacch Bharat mission can be achieved.
Prem Singh Chib, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) JMC, Sunil Kumar Gupta, Revenue Officer JMC and Neelam Rajput, Revenue Inspector also accompanied the Mayor.
