JAMMU, Sept 16: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta along with Surinder Singh Choudhary, Councillor Ward 29 today visited Shakti Nagar-Rajpura and adjoining localities and met the locals there after starting construction work of drains in Rajpura Mangotrian.
Ashok Jogi, Som Nath, Sachin Kumar, Suresh Gupta, Pawan Sharma, Pardeep Sharma, Kewel Verma, Suresh Verma, Kiran Sharma and other prominent locals as well as Mukesh Kumar, Junior Engineer and other supervisory staff of Engineering Division II of JMC were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that construction of drains in the area was a long pending demands of locals of the area which has now been fulfilled as work on the same has been started which will also include proper covering of drains by iron gratings or concrete slab so that de-silting can be easily done.
He further said that an amount of Rs. 4.67 lakh has been allotted for the project.
Gupta also talked about the work on prestigious project of development of walkway with sufficient green spaces along sides of canal at Shakti Nagar with an estimate cost of Rs. one crore 30 lakh.
The Mayor appealed general public to cooperate JMC and other agencies in development activities undertaken in various parts of the city.
