Mayor discusses Jammu’s projects with Advisor

JAMMU, June 24: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta met with Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, Advisor to Governor here today and had brief discussion for implementation of various development activities in an effective manner.
Anil Gupta, Nodal Officer (AEE) JMC & other officers of engineering wing were also present during the meeting. Mayor put forth various demands before Advisor which includes shifting of all the parks under Horticulture to JMC along with field staff for better maintenance, tourism /pilgrims spots of Surinsar, Krimochi- Mansar may be developed on modern lines so that more and more tourists/pilgrims may come to these places. It would also give boost to the economy of Jammu.
He also referred to the projects like development of Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex, a project of modern green park near Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar which costs about Rs 68 crore may be finalized, a project of about Rs 14.75 crore of Raghunath Mandir (under Prasad scheme) may be taken up with Central Government on priority basis.
Mayor further demanded that Sukrala Mata Mandir, Bala Sundari Mandir, Chontra Mata Shrine may be brought under Shrine Board for their further development. The matter regarding linking of Ration Cards of BPL/APL with Adhaar Card may be taken up on priority basis for proper distribution of sugar & other articles to the poor and needy persons, he added.
Mayor also took up issue of lighting system at Abhinav Theatre, transfer of land of SRTC adjoining kala Kendra to Kala Kendra Bikram Chowk by shifting transport yard to some other suitable place, shifting of office/building of Social Welfare Department of Old Rehari /Amphalla may be shifted to Jammu Municipal Corporation building at Prem Nagar Road near Church for the convenience of needy persons, widow & old age pensioners.
Advisor assured that all the demands will be taken up on priority basis.
