Mayor, Ex-MP lay foundation stone of Community Hall in Roop Nagar

JAMMU Jan 31: Continuing his endeavour to provide more development activities to the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with Shamsher Singh Manhas, Ex Member Parliament (MP) Rajya Sabha , Rekha Manhas, councillor of Ward No.62 today laid foundation stone of construction of a Community Hall at first floor within the premises of Aap Shambu Mandir upper Roop Nagar area.
Suresh Khajuria, Mandal president, Muthi Paloura, Sukhdev Singh Jamwal, Satpal Chib president, Aap Shambu Mandir Committee along with prominent inhabitants of the area as well as Deep Kumar Sharma, Assistant Executive Engineer, Rakesh Kumar, Junior Engineer and other supervisory staff of Works Division III and Sanitation Section were also present during the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that it was the long pending demand of the people as well as Mandir Committee which has been fulfilled today by the sincere efforts of concerned councillor of the Ward as it is one of the famous temples of Northern India and large number of devotees from J&K as well as from other parts of the country come here to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva and there is urgent need of a community hall to accommodate such large rush of public.
He further said that an amount of Rs 27.00 lac has been sanctioned for this prestigious work. He directed the concerned engineers accompanied with him to personally monitor the quality of work on daily basis and get it completed within the stipulated time period as the holy festival of Mahashivratri is coming in the first week of March 2022 and during which people from all walks of life come at this religious site along with their family members for Darshan.
The members of Management Committee of the Mandir extended gratitude to the Mayor and his team for visiting the site and resolving their long pending issue of construction of the Community Hall at this particular site.
