Mayor for transparency in service delivery to common citizens

JAMMU, Dec 7: Sher-e- Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology Jammu, (SKUAST) organised a programme on the eve of Anti-Corruption Day today. The chief guest of the event was Rajinder Sharma, Mayor Jammu.
After formal welcome of the chief guest by Vice Chancellor, Prof J.P Sharma SKUAST and Prof Rakesh Nanda, Director Education SKAUST Jammu, the Mayor in his speech highlighted the various problems faced by the public and the steps being taken by him as Mayor Jammu to combat the same. He emphasised the importance of ease of doing business by bringing in transparency in service delivery for common citizens. This will go a long way in preventing corrupt practices in service sector. He also impressed upon the students their role in making a corruption free Jammu in particular and a corruption free India in general.
The Mayor appealed to the students to participate in large number in the march being organised on December, 9 on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Prof Rakesh Nanda, Director Education SKAUST Jammu and the singing of National Anthem.
